Bristol Bulldog biplane fighter
The Bristol Bulldog was the winner of an RAF squadron evaluation against the Hawker Hawfinch in 1928 to become the next frontline fighter. Formations of bulldogs wowed the crowds at the annual RAF Hendon Flying Displays with the precision aerobatics so popular at the time, and “…thoroughly good form ol' boy!” in the inter war RAF.
My painting shows a typical such formation of 56 Squadron aircraft.
