DH89 DeHavilland Dominie
Prior to the start of WWII, the British Armed Forces used the very successful deHavilland Dragon Rapide for passenger transport and communications. However, an improved version with redesigned engines was built for the specific task of the training of radio operators and navigators.
My painting features one of these aircraft based at No.2 Radio School, RAF Yatesbury in Wiltshire, one of many Initial Training Wings started around the country and Commonwealth.
